Scott Parker has hailed the influence of Harry Redknapp as the Tottenham midfielder prepares for England's Euro 2012 qualification showdown with Montenegro.

The 30-year-old is expected to start Podgorica as he continues to revive an international career that, some 15 months ago, appeared to be over.

After missing out on Fabio Capello's final cut for the World Cup in South Africa, Parker feared he would never be able to add to his three caps for his country.

However, Parker enjoyed an incredible season for West Ham - on a personal note - and fought his way back into Capello's plans, as well as being named FWA Footballer of the Year.

Following the Hammers' relegation, questions were again raised as to whether or not Parker could retain his place in the England side, due to playing outside of the Barclays Premier League.

But, on deadline day, he was granted a move back to the top-flight with Tottenham, and has quickly won over the White Hart Lane faithful.

And, says Parker, he feels that his finest years could still be ahead of him - and Redknapp is the perfect man to get the best out of him.

"I'm going into a very, very good squad with a manager who has a great track record and has done remarkably well with whatever team he's managed," explained Parker at an England press conference.

"I'm hoping to thrive from that and keep improving. Harry's very good with people.

''He knows what he wants to set his side out to win football matches. It's clear for everyone to see what a fantastic manager he is.

"Confidence is massively important. When I feel that someone believes in me they'll get the best out of me."
