Owen Hargreaves is fully fit and ready to play for Manchester City when he’s called upon, according to first team coach David Platt.
Hargreaves made his first appearance for City in the Carling Cup against Birmingham, after suffering years of injuries at Manchester United before the midfielder was released to find another club in the summer.
And after Hargreaves scored on debut for the Citizens, he quickly became a possible starter for the side as he continued to get closer to being fully match fit.
"He's in good shape," Platt told the Manchester Evening News.
"When the boys get back from the international break, Owen should be there or thereabouts with his own full pre-season under him."
Hargreaves wasn’t selected for the England side, but Fabio Capello is closely monitoring the 30-year-old’s performances with future selection a possibility.
And if Hargreaves continues to shine for the club alongside some of the best players in the world, United may feel some regret that they let the stalwart go after he made only 27 appearances for them in five years.
