Freddy Eastwood has been told he is surplus to requirements at Coventry and free to find another club.

The striker, who has made just one substitute appearance this term, has struggled for fitness since returning for pre-season training and was even sent to Lilleshall recently to step up his efforts.

But manager Andy Thorn appears to have finally ran out of patience with the former Wales international. Thorn told the Coventry Telegraph: "I have had a chat with him and told him it is time he found another club."

He added: "I need all hands on deck and it's just not happening. I have spoken to his agent as well because it is time to move on.

"I can't use him at the moment because he's a passenger and I need all the help I can get with everyone pulling in the right direction.

"He's a good lad, a good kid, but it's time for him to find another club."
