Juan Sebastien Veron looks set to retire at the end of the month, with the midfielder to end his career when Estudiantes play Racing Club, according to Talksport.

Veron was once reported to be the most expensive footballer in England, as well as one of the worst transfer deals in English football history.

Manchester United signed Veron for £28.1 million in 2001, but while the Argentina international was at United he was disappointing. Chelsea eventually bought the star in 2003 for £15 million, and he struggled to get game time at Stamford Bridge as well.

While at Chelsea, Veron went on loan to Inter Milan and then to Estudiantes. In 2007, he made the move to the Argentinian club permanent.

And now the former United star, at 36-years-old, is ready to hang up the boots for good, and with continual injury problems he is ready to finish playing.
