Mackail-Smith nets Scotland winner

Craig Mackail-Smith's first Scotland goal in his first international start in a 1-0 victory over Liechtenstein kept the Scots' Euro 2012 qualifying hopes alive going into the final game against Spain on Tuesday night.

Steven Naismith had missed three good chances at the Rheinpark Stadium before the Brighton striker - playing in place of injured Kenny Miller - headed Phil Bardsley's cross over Peter Jehle in the 32nd minute to ultimately secure three crucial points.

Scotland are one point above Czech Republic going into their last fixture against the runaway Group I winners in Alicante and must at least equal the Czechs' result in Lithuania to book a play-off spot.
