Arsenal are eyeing Venezuela international Jose Salomon Rondon, according to TuttoMercatoWeb, with the centre forward hoping to move clubs after not receiving enough game time at Malaga.

While Rondon scored 14 goals in 30 appearances for Malaga last season, the signing of Ruud van Nistelrooy has left him in trouble of losing his spot in the starting line up permanently.

Arsenal have long kept tabs on the 22-year-old, and is particularly so now that he looks likely to make an exit either next January or the summer. Arsene Wenger is hoping to bolster his options in the forward line, particularly with Robin Van Persie hinting that he may not extend his contract with Arsenal this season.

CSKA Moscow and Genoa are also said to be interested in Rondon, but Arsenal are reportedly confident that with the right offer, as well as Champions League football, that the starlet will prefer a move to the Emirates.
