Valencia and Paris Saint-Germain have entered into a ‘tug-of-war’ over Dimitar Berbatov, the Daily Express claims, as both sides fight to sign the striker in the January transfer window.
Berbatov has struggled for game time over the last season, and looks set to make an exit from Old Trafford in January as the Bulgaria international searches for a side where he can feature on the pitch once more.
And the Manchester United top scorer last season isn’t getting many opportunities under Sir Alex Ferguson, making just three appearances for United this season.
Berbatov signed for United from Tottenham in 2008 for a record £30 million fee, but after the emergence of Javier Hernandez, the 30-year-old looks set to go.
And both Valencia and Paris Saint-Germain have the funds to cover a big transfer fee, with Ferguson hoping to recoup as much of that £30 million as possible.
