Fabio Capello has said he will leave Wayne Rooney out of England's upcoming friendly fixtures as he looks to experiment with his side.

Rooney was sent off after lashing out in Friday's draw in Montenegro, meaning he will miss at least 1 game during Euro 2012 next summer.

Capello says he is eager to find solutions with a new system so that England can cope in the absence of their most influential player.

Carlos Tevez continues to be linked with a move away from Manchester in January, with Corinthians confirming their interest in the Argentinian.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has refused to rule out a move for Gary Cahill in January, having failed with a late bid in the summer.

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has revealed that he almost joined Arsenal last summer, but a £20m bid was rejected by the Reds.

Manchester United are facing competition from AC Milan in their attempts to bring promising Santos midfielder Paulo Henrique Ganso to England.

Despite signing Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson in the summer, Kenny Dalglish is said to be keen on central midfielder Moussa Sissoko.

And finally, Andre Villas-Boas is reportedly ready to enter the race for highly rated Lazio defender and Romanian international Stefan Radu.
