Transfer talk flatters Shaqiri

Swiss starlet Xherdan Shaqiri admits he's flattered by the number of clubs taking an interest in his services.

Tottenham Hotspur are one of the teams across Europe believed to be keeping tabs on the 20-year-old, who has built a reputation as one of the rising stars on the continent with both his country and FC Basel.

A hat-trick against Bulgaria in a Euro 2012 qualifier shot the midfielder further to prominence, but the 14-cap international insists he's concentrating on his current team rather than getting carried away by the speculation.

"I'm in good form and obviously I am pleased that so many clubs have noticed me," said Shaqiri after last night's win against Montenegro.

"But I am just thinking about helping my team win the championship in my country and qualify for the next round of the Champions League."

Shaqiri already has two Swiss Super League titles to his name, as well as a Swiss Cup and an international goal against England when the two countries met in a Euro 2012 qualifier last September.
