Liverpool target Aly Cissokho is now set to stay at Lyon after months of speculation linking him with a departure reports talkSPORT.

The 24-year-old has attracted interest from across Europe, and had been heavily expected to leave France last summer.

But after a move failed to materialise before the close of the transfer window, it was anticipated the French left-back would move in January.

Reds boss Kenny Dalglish tracked Cissokho throughout the summer, before opting instead to sign Jose Enrique from Newcastle, as the £10million fee needed to bring him to Anfield was deemed too much by Liverpool's directors.

Juventus have also been credited with an interest in the player in recent months, but Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has revealed the club will not accept any offers for Cissokho in January following talks with manager Remi Garde.

After an impressive start to the Ligue 1 campaign Cissokho's valuation has upped to £14million, but after Aulas' revelations, the figure is now irrelevant as he will not be moving to Liverpool or Juventus in the foreseeable future.
