Arsene Wenger is set to make another move for Yoann Gourcuff in January, according to Talksport, with the Frenchman still on the radar for an Arsenal swoop.

Gourcuff has starred for Lyon since joining the Ligue 1 outfit in 2010, and has attracted attention from numerous clubs as a result.

Arsenal were reportedly chasing the 25-year-old during the summer, and this week Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Auslas revealed that the Gunners had made a demand for Gourcuff but were turned down.

"There was demand from Arsenal but I said no," he said.

"He is under contract for five years and he wants to be a success at Lyon. I have complete faith in him.

"In time, I am convinced that there will be no more questions about him."

But now Arsenal are reportedly planning a January bid that will top the £20 million Wenger offered to Lyon in June.

Aulas is said to be hoping to get the maximum price for Gourcuff, with the chairman having secured big money deals for Michael Essien and Karim Benzema in the past.
