Wenger focused on short-term

Arsene Wenger will take things one game at a time following Arsenal's dreadful start to the season.

The Gunners currently sit 15th in the Barclays Premier League after taking only seven points from the opening seven fixtures of the season.

Wenger has seen his side win only twice in the league and has already conceded that Arsenal will not contest for the title this season.

The Frenchman is, then, only focused on Arsenal's next game - rather than what they can achieve this campaign.

"What we are hopeful for and what we can achieve is to win our next game," said the manager," he said at his pre-match press conference.

"It is seven games played, we have had some difficult away games. I am convinced we have good potential, we have rebuilt the team and of course we were a bit disturbed at the start of the season for different reasons.

"But we just want to focus on short term at the moment, we are not in a position to make long-term plans."
