Liverpool target Christian Eriksen has revealed he rejected a potential summer move to Manchester City.
The Ajax midfielder is regarded as one of the most exciting prospects currently operating in European football, and has also reportedly attracted the interest of Real Madrid and AC Milan.
Eriksen, 19, has previously claimed he would reject the opportunity to join Liverpool at this stage in his career, claiming he is better off developing at the Amsterdam Arena rather than Anfield.
Whether or not Liverpool have ever made a formal approach for the Denmark international remains unclear, but Manchester City's interest has been confirmed by the player himself.
"This summer there was interest from other clubs," Eriksen said.
"Yes, also from Manchester City, I was informed by my agent. But I immediately said 'no'. It was not for me.
"I have so much to improve as a footballer."
Liverpool, meanwhile, will allegedly test Ajax's resolve in January by tabling a formal offer for the young playmaker.
