TEAM NEWS

Harry Redknapp has concerns over his defence with Sebastien Bassong and Younes Kaboul Tottenham's only fit centre-backs.

Ledley King (groin), Michael Dawson (Achilles), Vedran Corluka (foot) and William Gallas (calf) are all on the sidelines.

Midfielders Danny Rose, Andros Townsend and Tom Carroll all look set to brought in by Redknapp.

Sandro (knee) and Aaron Lennon (groin), who both missed Sunday's draw against Newcastle, may also feature.

Pavlyuchenko wary of Rubin threat

Roman Pavlyuchenko has urged Tottenham not to underestimate the threat Rubin Kazan will pose on Thursday night.

Spurs meet the Russian side at White Hart Lane in the Europa League, in a battle between the top two sides in Group E.

Harry Redknapp is likely to field a weakened side against Rubin, maintaining faith they can get the job done, but Pavlyuchenko knows it will be a stern test.

“Maybe in England people don’t know too much about them, but they are a very well-known team in Europe," said the Russian striker.

"They regularly qualify for the Champions League and a couple of years ago they beat Barcelona in the Nou Camp.

“They have a very good head coach in Kurban Berdyev who has built the team up since he arrived at the club.

"He has concentrated on a strong defence and encouraged a lot of top players to join the club, making them a difficult side to beat."
