Tottenham tackle Munich for Spanish striker target - reports

Tottenham Hotspur are weighing up a January move for Valencia hitman Roberto Soldado according to the Daily Mail.

The 26-year-old Spaniard has been in fine early season form in La Liga, and has attracted interest from a number of clubs across Europe.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp wants to bolster his attacking options at White Hart Lane in January in a bid to return the north Londoners to the UEFA Champions League.

A move could depend heavily on the future of Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko, who is desperate for first-team football, and so is edging towards the exit door.

Spurs will face competition for Soldado's services, with scouts from German giants Bayern Munich watching the player at close quarters when Valencia met Bundesliga rivals Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions League this week.

Soldado remains a firm favourite at Valencia and the Spanish outfit will be sure to put up a fight to keep him at the Mestalla, if Spurs or Munich come calling in January.
