Sunderland got their season back on track with two late goals to defeat a struggling Bolton 2-0 at Reebok Stadium this afternoon.
Drawn nil-all at half time, the Black Cats dominated in the second half but were unable to convert until the 82nd minute.
Sebastian Larsson completed a fantastic corner that allowed Stephane Sessegnon to take full advantage, and smash the ball past Jussi Jaaskelainen.
With Sunderland up 1-0, they continued to dominate, and summer-loan signing Nicklas Bendtner was able to score in stoppage time to close the game down.
Bolton will be particularly disappointed with the defeat, which condemned them firmly in the relegation zone at 18th place on the table.
Darren Prately was Rovers’ best chance, nearly equalizing but sending the ball straight into the Sunderland keeper.
