United have £2.5m winger bid turned down – report

Manchester United have had a £2.5 million bid for Alvaro Vadillo rejected, according to The Times, with Real Betis insisting their prized possession is worth much more.

At just 17, Vadillo made his debut for the Real Betis senior side this season, and after his performances for the Spain under 17 and 19 international sides, Sir Alex Ferguson has been keeping tabs on the youngster ever since.

The paper claims that United made a £2.5 million for the youngster to come to an agreement for a move in January, but Betis believe that Vadillo is worth well over that price, and are holding out to see if any clubs other than United show interest in the starlet.

United will now decide whether to up their price for Betis, or allow a bidding war between other clubs to take place for the wonderkid.
