Former Manchester United starlet Rodrigo Possebon is considering a move to AC Milan, according to Talksport, with the midfielder starring for Brazilian side Santos this season.
Sir Alex Ferguson has a long working relationship with Santos, and when the youngster was sold to the club in 2010 it was thought he might be a ‘sweetener’ in a deal to get Neymar to move to Old Trafford.
But now Neymar is reportedly shunning United and fellow English contenders Chelsea for a move to Real Madrid, Santos are looking to cash in on the Brazilian, with AC Milan considering a big money bid.
Possebon was seen as a future European talent when he began his tenure at United, but after suffering a broken leg in 2008, he never fully recovered his top form and eventually moved to Brazil as a result.
United still have a good working relationship with Santos, but with Neymar’s appeal across Europe, the Bazilian club will sell their prized possession to the highest bidder for a tidy profit, of which Madrid reportedly lead the race.
