Manchester City are now open to a swap deal involving Aleksander Kolarov joining Juventus, as they eye Barcelona full-back Maxwell as a replacement.
The Serbian defender has failed to nail down a staring place with City following his move from Lazio in 2010.
And given the arrival of Gael Clichy in the summer, Kolarov's opportunities have been further limited, with the full-back restricted to appearances in the Champions League.
The defender is now looking for a move away from City, with Juventus ready to match a reported £8 million fee.
As a replacement, Barcelona defender Maxwell has been mentioned as a potential target.
