Young Boys midfielder mulls over Merseyside move - reports

Everton boss David Moyes is interested in a cut-price January deal for Young Boys midfielder David Degen - brother of Liverpool flop Philipp - reports the Daily Mirror.

The 28-year-old is on the Toffees' radar, but is also said to be attracting interest from Serie A side Fiorentina.

With 14 Switzerland caps to his name, Degen has plenty of experience, but Moyes must consider whether he feels the player has the ability to succeed in the Barclays Premier League.

Degen's twin brother Philipp, had a disappointing three-year spell in England with Liverpool - arriving at Anfield in 2008, he was eventually released by Reds boss Kenny Dalglish this summer, after making only seven first-team appearances.

The failure of David's brother is sure to play on the mind of the Everton manager, who is always very thorough in his scouting of players he brings to Goodison Park.
