Sebastian Giovinco's agent Andrea D'Amico has added to speculation linking the highly rated Parma midfielder with a January move to England by confirming that Chelsea have been keeping tabs on his client.
According to skysports.com, the 24-year-old Italian international would favour a move to west London, having also been linked with Arsenal and West Ham in the past.
Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas is a long-term admirer of the former Juventus man, and is believed to have scouted him during his previous role at Porto, prior to moving to Stamford Bridge this summer.
But Chelsea's interest stems even further, after D'Amico revealed that it is in fact club owner Roman Abramovich, whose attention Giovinco first caught - when the Blues played Juventus in 2009.
"It is no secret Roman Abramovich likes Sebastian Giovinco, he told Sportal.it. "The Chelsea boss was impressed by Sebastian in 2008/09 when he faced the Blues in the Champions League with Juventus.
"Also, if Villas Boas really loves the technical qualities of the player, it means he is a football connoisseur. But at this moment, the market is closed and agents cannot be contacted."
