Arsenal have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of playmaker Marvin Martin.
The French international, valued in the region of £10 million, is one of a handful of playmakers thought to be on Arsene Wenger's wish-list for the January transfer market.
La Liga outfit Valencia are also said to be tracking the player, but Martin has admitted he's happy in France with his current Ligue 1 club.
“I’ve started the season with Sochaux and I’ll finish there as well. I’ve absolutely no desire to leave the side like that in the middle of the season,” said Martin.
The news will be a blow to Wenger, with Martin seeming to be the cheapest of the potential Emirates targets for the January transfer window.
Arsenal drafted in Mikel Arteta and Yossi Benayoun during the summer transfer window, but made a disastrous start to the season following the influx of new players.
A minor recovery has recently taken place, but the Arsenal boss is still thought to be considering his options in the attacking midfield position for when the transfer window re-opens in January.
Eden Hazard and Adel Taarabt have also been linked with the Gunners, and it remains to be seen who the Arsenal manager will pursue strongest in the New Year.
