Mario Goetze is high on Arsene Wenger’s transfer wishlist, according to Metro, with the attacking midfielder being eyed up for a possible January bid.
Goetze has starred for Borussia Dortmund over the last season, and at just 19-years-old, he is the subject of a great deal of transfer speculation.
Arsenal reportedly feel that Goetze, considered one of the 'brightest young talents' in German football, would fit perfectly with their young side, and he will only get better as the Gunners move to challenge for their first trophy in coming along to seven years.
Arsenal had their worst start to a season in over 50 years this time around, but the Gunners are coming good again, and learning to gel with the new signings and survive without Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri. On Saturday, the north London side showed how serious they are about breaking into the top four by beating Chelsea 5-3.
And with Dortmund looking a good chance of bowing out of the Champions League early on, the side might not be able to hold onto their big money stars as they lose considerable revenue from not being in the competition.
Arsenal will no doubt be looking to capitalise on Dortmund’s problems, and make a bid for the youngster that the side can’t refuse.
