'Complete' Walcott earns Wenger praise

Arsene Wenger has lavished praise on Theo Walcott following Arsenal's stunning victory against Chelsea on Saturday.

The Gunners ran out 5-3 winners at Stamford Bridge, with Robin van Persie playing a starring role for the visitors with a superb hat-trick.

Walcott, though, also put in a commendable performance in which he provided a stern examination of Ashley Cole and netted Arsenal's third goal.

And Wenger believes the 22-year-old is beginning to demonstrate that he has been a 'complete' winger.

"Theo has been struggling because we make him work very hard," said the Arsenal boss.

"He has become a more complete player. He's not a liability defensively, he does his defensive job.

"At the start that makes you have heavy legs when you win the ball back but now he is getting used to it and he does his job going forward as well.

"He went through a patch maybe where he worked so hard he didn't have the resources to go forward, but not now."
