Kevin de Bruyne says he wants to concentrate on beating Chelsea tomorrow night in the Champions League rather than signing for them, but the 20-year-old hinted that a deal might be on the cards with the Blues for January.
De Bryne looks likely to feature for a Genk side in desperate search of points in the group stages of the European tournament, with the side currently bottom of the Group E table.
And the Belgium international said that this is at the forefront of his mind this week rather than a deal with Chelsea.
"I will think about only doing my best for Genk," De Bruyne said. "My relationship with Chelsea is not important.
"Nothing is signed yet, we will see."
De Bryne, valued by the Daily Mirror at £12 million, also said that he plans on using the underdog tag to his advantage tomorrow night, with Chelsea the overwhelming favourites to defeat Genk in their pursuit of the final 16.
"We gained a lot of confidence in the Bruges game and I scored three times," he said. “But we won as a team and we have to take on Chelsea as a team.
"What have we got to lose? Playing against this type of world-class team is a player's dream."
