Nemanja Vidic says he’s raring to go for Manchester United this week, with the skipper hoping his form will be better than ever as the Red Devils look to improve their defensive line-up.
Vidic has had lengthy spells off the pitch for United this season, suffering a calf problem after the side’s opening victory against West Brom. On his comeback, he was sent off against Otelul Galati in the Champions League, and then while on the bench for the Manchester City thrashing, wasn’t deemed ready by Ferguson to take to the pitch.
But now, Vidic is ready to build up some game time, and feels better than ever after an impressive display against Everton at the weekend. He's back in contention for selection forthis weekend's tie with Sunderland at Old Trafford.
"I have never been out so long," Vidic revealed. "It was eight weeks and it was a difficult time.
"I was desperate to be there but at least we did well, so I didn't have that much pressure to come back and play.
"That helped me. Now I feel well. I don't feel any pain, which is the most important thing. I can move on, try to reach my top form game by game and help the team reach our goals."
United will be looking to take three points from tomorrow’s European match-up with Otelul Galati, as the side aim to push into first place in the Group C table. And after losing to City just over a week ago, the side are desperate to show they’re able to challenge their cross-town rivals for trophies both domestically and in Europe this season.
