Hammers must make Dons defender decision

Published Add your comment

AFC Wimbledon are hoping to extend West Ham defender Callum McNaughton's loan spell at Kingsmeadow reports skysports.com.

The 20-year-old has made 11 appearances for the Dons in his two-month stint with the League Two club, but his spell is due to come to an end next Tuesday.

After a spate of Upton Park injuries in the past few weeks, Hammers boss Sam Allardyce may want to keep hold of McNaughton as cover for his first-team.

However, Dons assistant Stuart Cash is hoping that new agreement can be reached, and said the club will be in touch with West Ham.

"We need to get on the phone to West Ham," he told the Epsom Guardian. "If we could extend his loan we would like to.

"But it is up to West Ham and they lost a couple of centre-backs in their game on Tuesday night."
