Villarreal v Manchester City
UEFA Champions League;
Weds, 2nd Nov; 1945 KO
Mario Balotelli is back in the City squad after serving a three match ban carried over from his time with Inter Milan, although Carlos Tevez remains an outcast from the squad following the incident at Bayern Munich.
Owen Hargreaves is ineligible after being left out of Roberto Mancini's initial squad, but the Italian has no new problems to contend with.
Villarreal have been hit with an injury crisis ahead of the clash, with striker Giuseppe Rossi out of action for six months with a cruciate ligament injury.
Nilmar, Marco Ruben, Marcos Senna, Javier Camunas, Cani and Cristian Zapata are all out for the Yellow Submarine, with young players called into the squad from their B and C teams.
Zabaleta demands City focus
Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta has urged his teammates to focus on the task at-hand against Villarreal tonight.
The Citizens survived a huge scare against the Yellow Submarine a fortnight ago, with Sergio Aguero striking in injury-time to secure a vital 2-1 win at the Etihad Stadium.
It puts City back into contention to qualify from the group, but the Argentine full-back insists the side must concentrate on beating their La Liga opponents tonight rather than looking ahead to potentially decisive clashes against Bayern Munich and Napoli in Group A.
"We need to try to focus on the next game. That is most important for us and for the Villarreal players as well," said Zabaleta pre-match.
"We are in a tough group with difficult teams. We know it is going to be very hard and it is tight in front of us.
"If we want to get into first or second position we need to try to get three points tonight."
