Bond knows what to expect

Kevin Bond and Joe Jordan will take up managerial responsibilities in place of Harry Redknapp against Rubin Kazan, and the former knows it will be a tough test against the Russian outfit.

Redknapp has been released from hospital following a successful minor hear operation, but does not make the trip for the Europa League encounter.

Spurs, though, are well aware of the threat Rubin can pose, having encountered them at White Hart Lane two weeks ago.

The north London side triumphed that night by virtue of a solitary goal from Roman Pavlyuchenko, and Bond knows it will be another tight affair tonight.

"It will be really tough," said Bond. "Rubin Kazan are a good side. It will be a great experience for all of us.

"They will think they need to get a result and we’ll need to be resilient and try to bring something back.

"We were mindful that if we could win our home games and then pick up a couple of away results, that would be enough, and that’s what it’s about, getting through to the knockout stage.

"We’ve done that so far, won the home games, got a draw at PAOK and now we’ll try to get at least a draw in Russia."
