Spurs subject of another £40m bid – report

Tottenham have been offered £40 million for Gareth Bale’s departure, according to Metro, with Juventus desperate to get hold of the winger in the next transfer window.

Bale was the subject of a great deal of transfer talk last summer, after the star put in some outstanding performances against clubs abroad in the Champions League.

But while Tottenham will be hoping to keep Bale at all costs, a bid of £40 million will reportedly be enough to turn Daniel Levy’s head.

Juventus are trying to make a comeback to their glory days in the Serie A, and are planning a swoop over the Barclays Premier League as soon as the transfer window opens. With Bale at the top their list, the club are said to be willing to do anything to get hold of the Tottenham hero.

And while the club will face a fight to the lengths that Chelsea went to to get hold of Luka Modric, with speculation surrounding Harry Redknapp taking the England job next year only getting louder, clubs are hoping that Tottenham’s big names will be unsettled if the manager leaves.
