Chelsea & City face £30m midfield bidding war – report

Christian Eriksen is the subject of a bidding war between Chelsea and Manchester City, according to the Daily Mail, with both clubs putting forward big-money offers for the Ajax star.

Eriksen was named Dutch Football Talent of the Year last year, and was the youngest player to participate in the 2010 World Cup.

And as a result, numerous European clubs are chasing the playmaker, with Chelsea and City emerging as favourites to snap up the 19-year-old in January.

While Ajax have insisted that they will fight to keep Eriksen, Chelsea and City are both testing the club with bids of £22 million and £30 million respectively, the paper claims.

Chelsea have reportedly already put their offer forward for the youngster, and are hoping to steal the march on City, who are willing to part with more money than their Barclays Premier League rivals.
