United defender subject of ‘shock’ £10m bid – report

Real Madrid are tabling a £10 million bid for Nemanja Vidic, according to the People, with Jose Mourinho putting the defender at the top of his summer transfer wishlist.

Vidic has been the subject of a lot of transfer talk lately, though his agent has denied having any contact with other clubs in preparation for the January transfer window.

Manchester United have continually stated their intention to keep Vidic on board, but with Madrid desperate to sign the defender, Sir Alex Ferguson’s resolve to keep the star may be tested over the shock bid.

Mournho is said to believe that £10 million will be enough to snare Vidic, but the side would be hard pressed to convince the United skipper that a move away from Old Trafford is the best decision.

And with United suffering from defensive problems this season, the Spanish giants will have difficulty convincing the Red Devils to part with one of their top players.
