Tottenham preparing Brazilian sale after 'communication breakdown' - reports

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes is set to leave the club after a complete breakdown in communication between himself and manager Harry Redknapp, according to Goal.com.

The Brazilian feels he has been let down by Redknapp after being promised the No.1 jersey for the coming season, despite the signing of Brad Friedel.

However, it has been the American who has chosen to start the club's games in the Barclays Premier League, with Carlo Cudicini being preferred in the Europa League.

“Gomes is almost certain to leave in January and he's got no relationship with Harry anymore,” a Tottenham source told Goal.com.

“They had a stand-up row and it got pretty heated, it wasn't good. Gomes feels let down as he thought Friedel arrived in the summer as second-choice goalkeeper.”

The Brazilian has produced mixed displays for Tottenham during his three-year career at White Hart Lane, with his inconsistency forcing Redknapp into signing Friedel upon his release from Aston Villa.

The falling out between the two parties should signal the end of Gomes's career at Tottenham, but a lack of potential suitors could make any move in January a difficult one to complete.
