Celtic are on the verge of signing Rosenborg defender Mikael Lustig according to the player's agent.
Lennart Norgen, who represents the 24-year-old utility man, has revealed that there are a number of clubs interested in his client, including interest from the Barclays Premier League.
Bhoys boss Neil Lennon was credited with an interest in Lustig over a year ago, and he has now re-emerged on the Celtic Park radar after Norgen confirmed he was in talks over a move to Parkhead.
"Celtic are one of several reputable clubs we are in dialogue with," he said.
With 19 Sweden caps to his name, Lustig would bring valuable experience to the Celtic team, and with their current injury problems in defence, his versatility would be a bonus to Lennon as he looks to strengthen in that area.
But the Hoops will face competition for the player's signature, with Fulham boss Martin Jol also reportedly monitoring the situation with a view to making an offer when the transfer window reopens in January.
