Tottenham are back on the trail of Fernando Llorente, with a view to making a summer bid for the Athletic Bilbao star, according to talkSPORT.
The 26-year-old has been earmarked as a replacement for Brazilian hotshot Leandro Damiao, who looks set to move to eastern Europe over England.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is a long-term admirer of Llorente, and made attempts to sign him last summer.
Bilbao played Tottenham in a pre-season friendly at White Hart Lane, which gave opportunity for the two sides to hold low-level talks about a prospective move.
The north Londoners currently have Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor on a season-long loan, but his excessive wage demands mean that a permanent move to Tottenham remains unlikely.
With six goals in eleven appearances so far this season, Llorente's La Liga form has held Spurs' interest, and Redknapp is ready to test Bilbao's resolve with a bid at the end of the campaign.
Llorente currently has 18 months remaining on his existing deal, but he may be tempted by the opportunity to test himself in the Barclays Premier League with Tottenham.
