Chelsea striker tipped for January exit - reports

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku is a reported January target for La Liga outfit Villarreal.

According to the Daily Mail, El Submarino Amarillo are keen to bring Lukaku to El Madrigal on loan in order to bolster their bereft goalscoring department.

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas is alleged to be open to the idea of the 18-year-old leaving Stamford Bridge in the short-term in order to further his development.

Lukaku has made five appearances for the Blues since joining the club from Anderlecht for £18 million in June.

The Belgian, however, is very much one for the future at Chelsea, and is behind Fernando Torres, Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka in Villas-Boas' selection order.

Chelsea sporting director Michael Emenalo stated earlier this week that the west London club are keen to reap the benefits of sending players out on loan, and Lukaku could be the next to have an opportunity do so.

Malaga have also been linked with a move for the young forward, who has yet to register a goal for his new club.
