Highly-rated Wycombe Wanderers starlet Jordan Ibe has reportedly rejected the opportunity to sign for Chelsea.

The 15-year-old has previously undergone a trial with Liverpool, while Manchester United are said to have made an enquiry about his availability.

More recently, Fulham and Manchester City have been linked with Ibe, and Chelsea are known to have shown an interest.

However, according to Goal.com, the young midfielder has rebuffed attempts from Andre Villas-Boas to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

This would appear to leave City as the frontrunners to sign Ibe, who has drawn comparisons to Chelsea star Frank Lampard.

"He scores and creates goals, he is quick and has two good feet," a source close to the player told The Sweeper.

"At the moment he is a wide attacker but he will probably develop into an attacking midfield player in the style of Frank Lampard.

"Is he a future Champions League player? That is the question."
