Manchester City's football development executive Patrick Vieira says the club have been impressed with the form of Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila.

The Frenchman has been attracting interest from throughout Europe and has already stated he is ready to leave Ligue 1 sooner rather than later.

Arsenal were close to signing him at the end of the summer transfer window, but according to City's Vieira, the north-Londoners aren't the only ones interested.

"I think he could seize his opportunity in the French team. He seems to be level-headed," Vieira said.

"I like the image he is showing. But I am sure City is not the only club attracted by him."

Arsenal will be worried by the reported interest in M'Vila, who they would have felt confident in signing.

Arsenal lost out twice to City this summer, as they snapped up both Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri from the Emirates.
