Inter Milan defender Cristian Chivu is talk to a handful of clubs about his next career move, according to his agent.
The Romanian has yet to agree a new deal with the Serie A side, with his currently contract set to expire at the end of the season.
Manchester City and Liverpool have both been linked with a move for Chivu, however, Real Madrid have also been mentioned in dispatches.
"Back to Ajax? I'd say he could continue playing abroad, maybe at Real Madrid," he said.
''I'm talking with three or four big-level teams. He can continue playing for four or five years.''
"Real? Mourinho knows him well. I've spoken with him, we'll see. The most important thing is that Cristian plays as a pure defender."
The 31-year-old would lend plenty of experience to both City and Liverpool, who have both brought young players of late.
City brought in 23-year-old Sergio Aguero and 20-year-old Stefan Savic during the summer while Liverpool recruited England under-21 captain Jordan Henderson and 20-year-old Sebastian Coates.
