Douglas Costa's agent has opened the door to a possible move to England in January, with Manchester United and Arsenal thought to be keen on the player.
Both clubs were linked with a summer move for the 21-year-old Brazilian, who stayed in the Ukraine after Shakhtar Donetsk rejected offers for the player.
However, agent Cesar Bottega admitted that the club may not be able to reject advances in the New Year, with Italian clubs also involved in the race for the attacking midfielder.
"I think it's possible he'll leave in January. When the market reopens, definitely proposals will arrive, as has happened in August," he told Calciomercato.it.
"For now, however, I have no contact with English clubs, but I had some informal chat with Italian teams, but only to get information, there is nothing concrete."
The interest of Arsenal became formal in the last transfer window, with Arsene Wenger offering Denilson-plus-money for the former Brazilian U20 international to come to the Emirates.
However, Bottega revealed at the time that the Gunners were unsuccessful in their efforts to bring the player to north London.
"Shakhtar said no to Arsenal. They are not interested in Denilson and would want only money."
It's unclear if Arsenal remain interested, but have compatriot Andre Santos within their ranks were they hoping to sway Costa towards the English capital.
Manchester United were also heavily linked with a move, although a concrete offer was never confirmed by either party or the agent.
With Paul Scholes' retirement at Old Trafford in the summer, a gap opened up for Sir Alex Ferguson to draft in an attacking midfield to the Red Devils ranks.
The Scot opted against a move at the time though, with Tom Cleverley graduating to the senior Manchester United fold after time away from the club on loan.
However, a dip in form coupled with an injury to the England international midfielder has left many to predict that Ferguson will once again look to raid the transfer market in January, with a playmaker highest on the club's agenda.
Wesley Sneijder, Christian Eriksen and Mario Gotze have all been mentioned as possible additions, and now Costa joins the list of potential Manchester United targets post-Christmas.
