Pepe Reina believes Luis Suarez is better than former Liverpool hero Fernando Torres.

The latter faces his former club on Sunday as Chelsea host the Reds at Stamford Bridge having endured a torrid start to his Blues career.

Torres has netted only five times in 30 games for Chelsea since his £50 million move from Liverpool, while Suarez has made his £24 million price tag look decent value.

The Uruguayan hitman has scored 11 goals for Liverpool, and Reina has backed the 24-year-old to eclipse Torres' achievements at Anfield.

"Fernando is top class; Luis is as good or even better than Fernando," said the Reds goalkeeper.

"Those players are really special. You don't find those kind of players very often.

"The club did a good job in signing Luis and hopefully he will be many years with us and hopefully he will score as many goals as Fernando."
