Schwarzer frustrates Black Cats

Published Add your comment

Goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer pulled off a fine late save to deny Sunderland victory as Fulham hung on for a point in their goalless draw.

The Australia international blocked Stephane Sessegnon's injury-time shot with his leg after it had deflected off defender Philippe Senderos.

Kieran Richardson and Jack Colback had both earlier been denied by the woodwork, but the home side were indebted to fine saves by Keiren Westwood from Moussa Dembele and Chris Baird either side of the break as the visitors threatened to snatch victory.
