Manchester United have joined the battle for German playmaker Mario Goetze, according to the Daily Star.
The 19-year-old has been a major target for The Gunners, with scout Steve Rowley a constant fixture at Dortmund, watching the player.
But United could spoil Arsenal’s pursuit of Goetze, with their own £20 million bid for the Borussia Dortmund man.
United spent much of the summer in pursuit of Wesley Sneijder and Luka Modric, and see Goetze, who Arsenal are tracking as a long-term replacement for Cesc Fabregas.
Both United and Arsenal have recently vied for Brek Shea, with the men from north London hoping they can win this battle like they did for the American starlet.
