Manchester United are keeping tabs on Atalanta striker Manolo Gabbiadini, according to the Daily Mail.

The 19-year-old has scored 10 goals in 13 appearances for the Italian Under-21's.

And United are reportedly mulling over a £9 million bid for the striker.

With Dimitar Berbatov and Michael Owen's future at United far from certain, the signing of Gabbiadini would fill the void left by either of the forwards.

In addition, the signing would be another sign that Sir Alex Ferguson is continuing to recruit younger players following the summer signings of David De Gea and Phil Jones.

United are expected to have Juventus and AC MIlan for company in their attempts to to snap up the Italian.
