Paris St Germain could hijack Chelsea and Manchester City's attempts to sign Napoli's Edinson Cavani, according to RMC.

The big spending Ligue 1 side are plotting a bid of £64 million, to add Cavani to their squad which already includes Javier Pastore, who cost £39.8 million last summer.

The Uruguayan has scored nine goals in 13 matches for the Serie A outfit, including in both Champions League group matches against Manchester City, who like Chelsea, are tracking his progress.

Sporting director Leonardo said: "PSG is a club that many players like today. A lot of players would come to wear this shirt."

PSG have also been linked with a move for former England captain David Beckham.

City are been particularly interested in Cavani after he scored twice in the Champions League, including in last week's group match but Mancini was adamant the club wouldn't be moving for the forward.

Chelsea's interest has been well known since the summer, and with Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba likely to leave the club, Cavani could be seen as the ideal replacement.

The 24-year-old is likely to demand a fee in the region of £60 million, a fee that is unlikely to resist Chelsea or City.
