Ghanian teenager Mumuni Abubakar has been handed a two-week trial with Liverpool, according to his agent.

Abubakar was named Sports Writers Association of Ghana Premier League Most Valuable Player last season and continues to impress all and sundry with number of cultured displays in midfield for Edubiase United.

The 18-year-old Edubiase captain will now have the opportunity to prove his worth at Liverpool after Reds director of football Damien Comolli invited him to Anfield.

“It sounds too good to be true for many but this a letter signed Liverpool Director of Football Damien Comolli,” agent Oliver Arthur told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“Mumuni is one of the emerging talents in the Glo Premier League and in the match against the senior side of Parma, he was highly impressive."

Abubakar was reportedly spotted earlier in November during a tour of Italy with Ghana's under-20 side; catching the attention of onlooking scouts.

According to GHANAsoccernet.com, Abubakar is expected to join up with Liverpool before the end of the year.
