Arsenal are reportedly ready to contest Tottenham in pursuit of Juventus striker Amauri.
The 31-year-old is keen to leave Turin having fallen down the pecking order at the Juventus Stadium and has attracted interest from numerous clubs across the continent.
According to the Daily Star, Spurs and Arsenal are two of the clubs monitoring Amauri, and will battle it out for his signature in January.
Arsene Wenger is said to be keen to add another forward to his ranks during the transfer window in order to ease the burden on Gunners captain Robin van Persie.
The Dutchman has scored 21 times in 23 games for club and country this term, and Wenger wants to manage to the workload of the injury-prone Arsenal hitman.
Harry Redknapp, meanwhile, has stated that he currently has no intention to reinforce his White Hart Lane ranks before the summer, but continues to be linked with numerous targets.
Should Amauri sign for Spurs, he will provide back-up for Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor.
