Mackie: Goals will come

Jamie Mackie is intent on making his first-team status a regular fixture for Queens Park Rangers this season, and the striker has also insisted it is only a matter of time before he starts scoring goals in the Barclays Premier League.

The 26-year-old has started each of the R's last three games and has been an outstanding performer for Neil Warnock's side.

"I feel I've been really unlucky that I haven't scored so far but it's only a matter of time," said Mackie.

The Scotland international was a last minute addition to Warnock's 25-man squad for the season, having been ruled out of action for nine months with a broken leg.

"I want to be playing football every week, I want to start every game," he added. "Performances will dictate whether I do but I feel that since I've been back in the side I've been playing really well."

Talk of adjusting to the Barclays Premier League from the Championship the forward said; "I want to show people that I'm not just there happy to be in the Premier League, I want to become a regular Premier League player.

"It's going to take a few seasons to do that but I want to make sure that by the time I'm finished that I've done that."

The QPR striker is yet to find the net in seven top-flight appearances but is hoping to get his goal in Saturday's clash with West Brom.
