Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on Borussia Monchengladbach winger Patrick Herrmann.

The 20-year-old has scored twice in 11 Bundesliga appearances this season and is a regular in Germany's under-21 side.

According to Bild, Glabach have valued Herrmann at €12 million amid interest from Arsenal, who are are reported to have been scouting the young midfielder.

It is claimed Arsene Wenger dispatched chief talent spotter Steve Rowley to run the rule over Herrmann, although the outcome of the trip is as yet unknown.

The acquisition of midfield reinforcements is thought to remain a priority for Arsenal when the transfer window opens as Wenger looks to further compensate for the departures of Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas.

The Gunners boss added Yossi Benayoun and Mikel Arteta to his ranks on deadline day, but is expected to further bolster when the opportunity presents itself.

Arsenal have also been linked with Lille sensation Eden Hazard and Herrmann's teammate at Gladbach, Marco Reus.
