Roberto Mancini says Manchester City are playing to win every competition they are involved in this season.
The Blues are currently five points clear at the top of the Barclays Premier League, having won 11 and drawn two of their 13 league outings so far this campaign.
Mancini's side are also still involved in the Champions League, although face a difficult task of progressing to the last 16, having lost to Napoli last week.
A semi-final in the Carling Cup also awaits for the Citizens, who will face Liverpool at the Ethihad Stadium in early January in the first leg of their last four tie.
Meanwhile, the draw for the third round of the FA Cup beckons this weekend, as City look to defend the trophy they won at Wembley in May.
And Mancini has assured City supporters that he will take no competition lightly this term, in the hope of adding as much silverware to the cabinet as possible.
“We are here to play football and it is always better to play than to train,” said Mancini.
“I don’t know what we will do with the team for the semi-finals. January and February will be hard months but we are playing to win everything there is.”
